Local Lawmakers, Judges, Law Enforcement, and Pastors Speak Out Against Issue 1
Leaders to host a press conference to discuss how Issue 1 will devastate NW Ohio
LIMA – Local lawmakers, judges, law enforcement, pastors and Citizens for Community Values are hosting a press conference on the harms of Issue 1 – a Constitutional amendment to decriminalize drug possession that Ohioans will be voting on this Tuesday, November 6.
The press conference will be held in front of a 45-foot bus, wrapped with “No on Issue 1” graphics.
As communities work to fight the opioid crisis, Issue 1 would devastate this effort, and tie the hands of law enforcement, the judiciary, and ministries to help people out of addiction and into treatment. Furthermore, by locking this bad policy into the state constitution, lawmakers would have virtually no ability to fix these problems.
The details of the press conference are as follows:
WHO: State Senator Matt Huffman
Sheriff Matt Treglia
Judge Jeffrey Reed
Judge Tammy Hursh
Judge Matt Staley
Judge David Rodabaugh
Judge Glenn Derryberry
Magistrate Terri Kohlrieser
Prosecutor Juergen Waldick
Pastor Terry Brock
Keith Cheney, Allen County GOP Chair
Aaron Baer, President of Citizens for Community Values
And other local elected officials and leaders
WHAT: Press conference on the Harms of Issue 1
