And so it begins…churches’ tax-exempt status already in question

June 30th, 2015

That didn’t take long…

No more than 48 hours after the U.S. Supreme Court redefined marriage for all 50 states, there are already calls to revoke the tax-exempt status for churches:

“The Supreme Court’s ruling on gay marriage makes it clearer than ever that the government shouldn’t be subsidizing religion and non-profits.”  -Mark Oppenheimer, Time Magazine

A & E Glamorizes Adultery with New Swingers Show

ae-logoPosted 3/6/2015 11:28:51 AM

A & E’s new reality series “Neighbors With Benefits” is a show about neighbors and friends who attend parties as married couples for the purpose of switching spouses and having sex. The premiere is expected to air on Sunday, March 22 at 10:00 pm ET/9:00 pm CT.

This inappropriate program glamorizes cheating and having affairs. Why get married if you do not plan on being faithful?

This immoral show belittles and makes a mockery of marriage.

In Cleveland, men can use women’s bathroom by law?

November 10th, 2014

On Wednesday, November 12 at 1:30 PM, there will be a committee meeting at Cleveland City Hall to discuss this ordinance proposed by Cleveland City Councilmen Joe Cimperman and Matt Zone to make all restrooms and showers in Cleveland open to both men and women. That includes businesses and schools, under the “public accommodations” arm of non-discrimination law.

This proposed ordinance outrageously neglects the safety and physical and emotional health of women and children and opens up real possibilities of predators and incidents of rape, assault, public exposure, and other sexual abuse.

Barring one gender from using a restroom facility designated for the other gender would now be a crime, punishable by a $1,000 fine.

This is Outrageous!

Rev. Bill Dunfee, pastor at New Life Beginnings Ministries, is a man of courage who is currently under attack. For years, Pastor Dunfee and many members of his church have been standing and praying outside the Fox Hole Strip Bar in Coshocton, Ohio. Tom George, the strip bar owner who is behind this effort (read AP report), also operates another strip bar in Zanesville, Ohio. CCV has been told by credible reports that Ohio law – the Community Defense Act that requires sex businesses to close between midnight and six o’clock in the morning – is not being enforced by local authorities at either location.

Why is the law not being enforced?

Also, how is going topless in public not a violation of the harmful-to-minors law?

I have personally stood and prayed with Pastor Dunfee outside of the Fox Hole Strip Bar. I witnessed men, who originally came to the strip bar, decide instead to pray with Pastor Dunfee, accept Jesus Christ, and then get back in their cars and drive home to their family. It was incredible. Please pray for Pastor Dunfee and his courageous church members. The topless women say they will be back again next Sunday. Please also pray for the men that frequent these clubs, pray that they would see deliverance and freedom from sexual addiction and pornography. Please pray that these young ladies would leave this lifestyle that exploits and objectifies them. And please pray that Mr. George would have a change of heart. We will keep you up-to-date on our plans to assist the church; for right now, please pray for all involved.  Blessings, Phil

Stand with Hobby Lobby and Religious Freedom for All Americans

March 25th, 2014

I stand for Green family smrOn March 26, 2014, Hobby Lobby and Conestoga Woods go before the Supreme Court to defend their right to operate their businesses in accordance with their faith. Both companies have refused to comply with HHS regulations that mandate they offer insurance policies which include contraceptives, sterilizations, and abortifacient drugs.

Hobby Lobby faces $1.3 million in punishing fines PER DAY if they lose this case OR having to cancel the health coverage for all their employees. It is imperative that religious and conservative Americans demonstrate that a large portion of the American public remains committed to the full expression of religious liberty—as envisioned by our founders, and guaranteed by our Constitution.

CCV is proud to partner with Family Research Council and pro-family organizations throughout the nation to support the #HobbyLobbyDay campaign!

Join us in taking unified action to show our support for religious freedom for all Americans!
