Mayors Pledge to Support Same-Sex Marriage

“As mayors of great American cities, we proudly stand together in support of the freedom of same-sex couples to marry…”

And so begins the Mayors for the Freedom to Marry Statement.

The (Democratic) mayors of Akron, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Cleveland Heights, Lima, and Stow, Ohio, have all jumped on the bandwagon and signed the statement, declaring their support for same-sex marriage.

This is an obvious threat to Ohio’s Marriage Amendment, passed in 2004 by over 62 percent of the voters!  As families and conservatives head for the suburbs, homosexual activists and liberals have taken over several Ohio cities. Instead of building better and safer towns, they spend their time promoting anti-family, anti-faith, and pro-homosexual policies. Ohio does not need to redefine marriage. It needs the support to uphold traditional marriage and family, sanctity of life, and religious freedom.

I recently heard of the Mayors for the Freedom to Marry statement, a pledge that is being circulated to encourage same-sex marriage. I am a strong supporter of marriage as a union between one man and one woman and am grateful that your name is not on the pledge. THANK YOU! Please continue to defend marriage in Ohio.
