The Rundown: A couple signs that millennials aren’t completely lost
“The Rundown” is a new weekly email from CCV President Aaron Baer with a short note on culture, “can’t-miss” news and the latest updates from CCV.
Don’t give up hope on us yet
Last weekend I had the chance to catch up with some long time CCV supporters. I’m always amazed to hear stories of the battles and victories CCV has been through over 30 years.
Like many of these conversations, the topic inevitably turned to the question of how we carry this work into the future – especially with a millennial generation that can be… simply the worst (I can say that because I am one – and a lot of people are saying it anyway).
There are plenty of reasons to look at the millennial generation and be frustrated/concerned/confused. But I’m here to tell you there’s more hope than we realize. Here are a couple of great signs:
1) Forge Leadership Network – There are few organizations I’m more excited about than Forge. Their mission is to identify the best and brightest of the next generation and train, mentor, and connect them to become the next conservative leaders in the public square.
And I’m not the only one excited about what’s happening at Forge: check out their recent newsletter highlighting how employers throughout the conservative world are raving about the Forge grads they’ve hired into key positions.
Forge is now accepting applications for their summer Leadership Summit. Click here to apply.
2) The Pro-life Generation – If there is one issue that millennials are leading on, it’s the defense of life. I saw this first hand on Friday when I was joined by a group of pro-life students in Cleveland and Columbus as we rallied outside Sen. Sherrod Brown’s office, calling on him to Confirm Judge Gorsuch to the Supreme Court.
These kids march under one banner: seeing the end of legalized abortion in our lifetime. And you can’t spend 5 minutes with them without realizing that this will happen.

Ties that bind
Unfortunately, cohabitation and out-of-wedlock birth is on the rise. And that has negative effects for everyone.
How can the Church reach out to the gay community?
This is essential work. But it’s not easy, and not something that should be taken lightly.
And I’ll be going to this conference… hope to see you there!

This year’s conference has a phenomenal line-up. You won’t want to miss it!
