Former Focus on the Family Vice President Tom Minnery Elected Chairman of the Citizens for Community Values Board of Directors
Citizens for Community Values’ Board of Directors has elected Tom Minnery as chairman. Mr. Minnery follows Joe Trauth, esq. of Cincinnati who faithfully served as the organization’s chairman through growth and a leadership transition.
Prior to joining CCV’s Board of Directors, Mr. Minnery was the President of CitizenLink, and served as the Vice President of Public Policy at Focus on the Family for more than 25 years.
“CCV is incredibly blessed to succeed a leader like Joe Trauth with Tom Minnery,” said CCV President Aaron Baer. “As CCV prepares to aggressively grow and take on new challenges, we are thrilled to have Tom leading our Board. Tom brings a wealth of wisdom to our efforts to advance public policy, strategically grow, and glorify God.”
“For 35 years, Citizens for Community Values has been recognized nationally as a leader in advancing the pro-family cause,” said Minnery. “Under Aaron’s leadership, the organization is poised to boldly take this work to new heights for the next generation.”
Together, Minnery and Dr. James Dobson built the Family Policy Council movement across the country, which includes CCV and is now 40 organizations strong.
An author and family policy advocate, Minnery is a founding member of the Alliance Defending Freedom Board of Directors and former chairman of the board. Prior to working at Focus on the Family, Minnery was the senior editor of Christianity Today magazine and Capitol Hill correspondent for Gannett News Service.
Minnery and his family reside in Columbus, Ohio. He is a graduate of Ohio University, B.A. Journalism, and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, M.A. Religion.
