Coronavirus may have put much of life on hold, but the mission of Citizens for Community Values is pressing on more intensely than ever! I wanted to give you a quick update on where we’re at, and where we’re going. Check out this short video message to hear where the fight for freedom stands today:
We’ve got three major priorities right now:
Empowering the Church: Churches have been on the front lines through the coronavirus crisis, and CCV has been the hub of getting straightforward information out.
We’ve also been one of the leading voices to protect the religious freedom of churches. I spoke with the Cleveland Plain Dealer earlier this month about how we’ve been working with the governor’s office to ensure churches are not forced to close their doors.
Fight for Life: No one is going about business as usual right now… except for the abortion industry. It’s absolutely insane that people are having their businesses close down permanently because of this virus, yet Planned Parenthood is still profiting off the destruction of unborn children.
Governor DeWine and Attorney General Yost issued orders to stop these clinics from performing surgical abortions during the crisis – like every other elective procedure. Yet instead of stopping, Planned Parenthood went to court.
Citizens for Community Values Legal Counsel Rachel Citak and Phil Williamson from Taft Law jumped in to help end surgical abortions by sending a brief to the court on behalf of more than 100 doctors and nurses. You can see the brief here.
Prepping for Election 2020: I don’t know about you, but this crisis has made it clearer than ever that elections matter. Still, some estimates show that upwards of 40-50% of Evangelicals and Catholics don’t vote.
We’re taking nothing for granted this year, and CCV is getting ready to launch our largest election effort ever, including:
- A Comprehensive Voter Registration push
- An Expanded Voter Guide
- A Statewide Get Out the Vote campaign.
As I’m sure you know, for many right now finances are tight – CCV included. The coronavirus has already impacted us by pushing our galas back to likely the fall.
But we cannot let the Christian voice in culture be silenced. That’s why I am so excited to share with you that a generous champion and the CCV board have put forward a $51,000 matching challenge!
This means they have offered to match every donation to CCV up to $51,000!
Even under Stay-at-Home orders, the fight for our families and our future presses on. Stand with us today by making a donation, and having your gift automatically doubled to support a brighter tomorrow for Ohio.

P.S. We cannot let our voice be silenced – especially during this crisis. I’m so grateful to our board and a CCV champion who stepped forward to match every donation to CCV up to $51,000! Stand with us today by making your donation here.
