BREAKING NEWS: Ohio Senate Passes Two Major Pro-Life Provisions

Ohio Senate Passes Born-Alive Infant Protection Act and Protects Taxpayers from Funding the Abortion Industry

COLUMBUS— The Ohio Senate just passed the Born Alive Infant Protection Act, Senate Bill 157, sponsored by Senators Terry Johnson (R-McDermott) and Steve Huffman (R-Tipp City). They also amended the bill to ensure that doctors who teach at state-funded hospitals and medical schools cannot work with abortion clinics. The following statement is from Center for Christian Virtue President Aaron Baer:

“It is unconscionable that the abortion industry and Planned Parenthood would fight a law to ensure children born after a botched abortion are provided with life-saving care. It proves they never truly cared about women health, only their profits. The Ohio Senate sent a strong message today that every child’s life matters.”

“The Senate also protected Ohio taxpayers by ensuring that our state has nothing to do with the destruction of life. The abortion industry for decades has attempted to intertwine itself into government, and day by day our pro-life leaders are taking steps to ensure our state does not assist in any way in the destruction of life. Center for Christian Virtue and all pro-life Ohioans are grateful for Senator Steve Huffman for leading the charge on this important issue, and for Senate President Matt Huffman for continuing to advance the pro-life cause through the chamber.”
