Everything you need to know for Ohio’s Primary Election
“Seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you... and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare.”
— Jeremiah 29:7 (ESV)
Ohio's Primary Election is Tuesday, May 5! As Christians, voting is a vital form of stewardship. It is how we love our neighbors and influence our culture with biblical values.
By voting with prayer and discernment, we promote justice, preserve life, and honor God in the public square. If you are registered to vote, do not miss this opportunity to put your faith into action.
1. What is On My Ballot?
The 2026 Primary is a massive election for the future of our state. From the Governor's mansion to your local school board, the leaders we choose today will define Ohio for years to come. Your ballot may include:
Governor and Statewide Offices: With several incumbents term-limited, Ohioans are choosing new nominees for Governor, Attorney General, Secretary of State, Auditor, and Treasurer.
US Senate: A critical seat is on the ballot to determine who will represent Ohio in Washington.
Congress and State Legislature: All 15 of Ohio’s seats in the US House, 17 seats in the Ohio Senate, and all 99 seats in the Ohio House are up for election.
Judicial Races: Two seats on the Ohio Supreme Court are up for election. These judges are the last line of defense for our families and the rule of law.
Local Levies and Issues: Decisions on school funding, public safety, and municipal charters.
As a nonpartisan 501(c)(3) organization, CCV does not endorse or oppose candidates. You can research your ballot by checking candidate websites, news articles, and endorsements from organizations you trust.
Pro tip: Pay attention to who is backing a candidate. If a group that opposes your values is spending heavily to support a specific name, that tells you exactly how they intend to lead.

2. When Do I Vote?
Polls are open Tuesday, May 5, from 6:30 am to 7:30 pm.
📸 Remember: A valid photo ID is required. View accepted IDs here.
3. Where Do I Vote?
Your Election Day polling location is based on your registered home address.
Note: If you still have an absentee ballot, you must personally deliver it to your County Board of Elections by 7:30 pm today. Do not take it to a regular polling place.
4. Why Should I Vote?
As Christians, we are not just citizens of heaven; we are stewards of the time and place God has positioned us. Voting is one of the most direct ways we can “seek the welfare of the city” (Jeremiah 29:7).
From the Governor’s office to the local school board, the individuals we elect will decide whether our state protects the unborn, defends parental rights, and upholds religious liberty—or whether we allow activists to continue their assault on biological reality and the nuclear family.
We don’t vote because we found a “perfect” candidate. We vote to:
Steward our influence: We have been given a voice in a self-governing republic. To remain silent is to hand over that influence to those who do not share biblical values.
Protect the Vulnerable: Policy has consequences. Your vote affects the safety of children in classrooms, the protection of the unborn, and the stability of our communities.
Stand for Truth: In a culture of confusion, voting for leaders who acknowledge objective, God-given truth is a primary way to push back against the darkness.
The 2026 Primary is not an optional political exercise. Voting is a spiritual opportunity to ensure Ohio is a state where families can flourish, and faith can be lived out freely. Don’t leave the future of your community to chance. Pray, plan, and vote.
