Roe Overturned!

Statement from Center for Christian Virtue President Aaron Baer

COLUMBUS–In a 6-3 decision in the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, the U.S. Supreme Court has overturned Roe v. Wade, allowing for states to restrict or abolish abortion. The decision was written by Justice Samuel Alito.

CCV will be hosting a livestream conversation with legal experts to unpack today’s decision at 2 p.m. More details to follow.

The following statement is from Center for Christian Virtue President Aaron Baer:

“All Glory to God in Heaven who has heard the cries of His people and the voices of 60 million unborn children who have been aborted since 1973! Today will be remembered as the day our nation turned from death to life, from brutality to compassion, and from judicial tyranny to democratic rule.

Now comes the pro-life movement’s finest hour. For nearly 50 years, we’ve fought to not only overturn an unjust Supreme Court decision, but to serve the women and children devastated by legalized and commercialized abortion.

“With pregnancy centers and churches across Ohio already serving countless women in crisis, the pro-life community stands ready to rebuild what Roe destroyed: a nation that values every life, and that views children as a blessing, not a burden.

“Now is also the time for the General Assembly to pass legislation to protect unborn children at the moment of conception, to ensure Ohio has done everything we can to ensure not one more child is taken at the hands of Planned Parenthood and the abortion industry in the Buckeye State.”
