ACTION ALERT: Stop Foreign Billionaires from Interfering in Ohio Elections

COLUMBUS – The Ohio Senate has passed the CCV-backed HB305. The bill, as amended, prohibits foreign actors from financially contributing to ballot issue campaigns.

In 2023 alone, one foreign-backed group, the Sixteen Thirty Fund, spent more than $14 million to prevent Ohioans from protecting the state Constitution and to enshrine abortion in the Constitution.

“Preserving the American promise for the next generation requires that it’s Americans who are influencing political decisions, not foreign actors,” said Aaron Baer, president of Center for Christian Virtue.

Center for Christian Virtue supports the version of the legislation passed by the Senate because it stops foreign billionaires from purchasing Ohio elections, while ensuring Ohio donors can maintain privacy.
