CCV to SCOTUS: Biden Vaccine Mandate is Unconstitutional

CCV joins with 30 Family Policy and Christian organizations to fight back against the overreach of the Federal government

COLUMBUS—Center for Christian Virtue has filed a brief with the U.S. Supreme Court taking a stand against the Biden administration’s requirement that businesses with 100+ employees force their employees to take the COVID-19 vaccine, engage in burdensome testing, or otherwise incur significant fines.

The brief argues that religious liberty has always been of the utmost importance in our nation’s history, and administrative agencies like the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), which is charged with enforcing the issued mandate, cannot infringe on our First Amendment freedoms.

“As seen time after time, when the government follows traditional separation of powers principles and courts apply traditional tools of statutory interpretation, religious liberty thrives,” the brief notes. “But when agencies demonstrate disregard for religious liberty—as they often do—and courts broadly defer to an agency’s own indifferent regulations, religious liberty suffers.”

You can read the full amicus brief here.

CCV joined with 30 family policy and Christian organizations across the country in filing the brief.

“CCV is pleased to join with other like-minded organizations committed to the rule of law and the preservation of founding principles in advocating against the intrusions of this mandate into business independence and personal liberties,” said John Hart, General Counsel at Center for Christian Virtue.

The Supreme Court plans to hear oral arguments regarding the mandate on Friday, January 7, 2022. Let’s pray that the justices will do what’s right and prioritize the freedom of conscience of every American.
