BREAKING: House Introduces Bill to Protect Kids from Porn
Representative Steve Demetriou (R-Bainbridge Township), joined by 22 of his colleagues in the Ohio House, introduced House Bill 295 (HB 295) on Wednesday. Also known as the Innocence Act, HB 295 aims to protect children from the porn industry by requiring Ohioans to provide ID for age verification when accessing obscene websites. The bill also prohibits a person’s image from being used against their will to create sexual content, such as “deepfakes.”

Lucas County Pays $137,000 in Attorney Fees for COVID-19 School Closures
The Toledo-Lucas County Board of Health was ordered by a federal court to pay $137,880.50 to Center for Christian Virtue and the Ohio Christian Education Network to cover the full cost of their attorneys following a recent First Amendment lawsuit in which they prevailed.

The Secretary of State’s office announced Tuesday that petitions for a proposed constitutional amendment that would legalize abortion up to birth and revoke existing parental consent and notification laws received enough valid signatures to appear on Ohio’s November ballot.

CCV Purchases Former Columbus Dispatch Facility Through Affiliated Organization
Through an affiliated organization, CCV has purchased the former Columbus Dispatch building on Broad Street. CCV anticipates fully moving its operations into the 30,000-square-foot, five-story building across from the Ohio Statehouse by the end of August.


Remembering Barry Sheets
Barry Sheets, a longtime lobbyist, friend, and team member of Center for Christian Virtue, went home to the Lord on July 2 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Barry had a tremendous impact on CCV’s legislative efforts and served as a lasting model of how to faithfully represent Jesus Christ while engaging with ideological opponents.
