Senator Michele Reynolds (R-Canal Winchester) is hosting a press conference this morning—Thursday, April 3, at 10:00 am, on her new bill, Senate Bill 167 (SB167). CCV Policy Director David Mahan, and other bill proponents will address the public during this morning's press conference. SB167 would require certain application store-based parental controls and age verification for children under the age of 16.

WATCH: First hearing for House bill to protect kids from intoxicating hemp, update marijuana laws
House Bill 160 (HB160), sponsored by State Representative Brian Stewart (R-Ashville), is scheduled for its first hearing in the Ohio Judiciary Committee today—Wednesday, April 2, at 11:00 am.
HB160 would require all intoxicating cannabis—including hemp products—to be sold through licensed dispensaries, ensuring children can't buy a high at a gas station or other unregulated retailers.

The Ohio House of Representatives passed the Advance Ohio Higher Education Act (SB1) yesterday by a 59-34 vote. SB1, which was amended and passed out of the Workforce and Higher Education Committee in the Ohio House by a 9-4 vote earlier in the day, now returns to the Ohio Senate for a concurrence vote on the changes before heading to Governor Mike DeWine's desk. House Bill 84 (HB84), sponsored by State Representatives Steve Demetriou (R-Bainbridge Twp.) and Josh Williams (R-Sylvania Twp.), is scheduled to receive its first hearing in the Ohio House Technology and Innovation Committee today–March 11–at 10:00 am.
Known as the Innocence Act, this bill would protect children from the porn industry by requiring Ohioans to provide ID for age verification when accessing obscene websites.
The Innocence Act would also prohibit a person’s image from being used against their will to create sexual content, such as “deepfakes” made using artificial intelligence.
