SEEKING THE GOOD OF OUR NEIGHBOR, June 2026
A Monthly Publication of the Church Ambassador Network
Our policy team has remained steadfast in our mission to protect Ohio families as we navigate a highly active legislative season. Building on the momentum of our recent advocacy efforts, we are thrilled to celebrate a major victory: the Success Sequence legislation has officially passed the Ohio General Assembly!
With this critical milestone achieved, this life-changing framework is now one step closer to becoming law, marking a historic triumph for the protection and guidance of Ohio's youth.
This legislation implements a vital, evidence-based three-pronged framework designed to guide youth and young adults toward a stable, prosperous adulthood.
Grounded in rigorous research from diverse institutions, the Success Sequence demonstrates that individuals who complete at least a high school education, obtain full-time work, and marry before having children are overwhelmingly less likely to live in poverty later in life. Under SB276, the Department of Education and Workforce will review and maintain high-quality curriculum resources to ensure Ohio school districts can provide clear, impactful instruction aligned with these proven outcomes.
By cementing these principles into our educational landscape, we are equipping the next generation with a reliable roadmap to personal and financial flourishing.
As the legislature begins its summer recess, the structural pause in floor votes opens a strategic window for our team to pivot toward essential, deep-dive initiatives. The summer months will be a critical time for developing and launching projects directly related to:
[I would have recommended linking to articles/websites that tell more about these, not quite enough context here]
Hope and a Future Initiative: Developing comprehensive initiatives centered on youth development, resilience, and community support.
Indecent Exposure Legislation: Advancing long-overdue safeguards to protect public decency, shield children, and uphold the dignity of our local communities.
Gambling Reform: Continuing our aggressive push against the predatory tactics of the digital betting industry to protect households from "addiction by design.”
Life-Affirming Legislation: Continuing to advance critical pro-life legislation such as the Baby Olivia Act and the Patient Protection Act. Both of these bills have already passed their introduction chamber, meaning they only require a few more steps in the opposite chamber until they become law.
We remain deeply committed to these initiatives and many others that reflect the truth of the Gospel.
Please keep our policy team and our legislative initiatives in your prayers as we transition into this busy summer season of project development, strategic planning, and events, including our landmark equipping conference, the Essential Summit, which will be held on Friday, October 23.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6 (ESV)
