It’s time to stop the free rein of sexual predators in girls’ showers and locker rooms

Why it matters
The Indecent Exposure Modernization Act (HB249), sponsored by Representatives Angie King and Josh Williams, addresses a dangerous gap in Ohio’s public exposure law. This gap has allowed predatory men at two separate Ohio YMCAs to recently target young girls without legal consequence.
The threat to children extends beyond the locker room and into the public square. HB249 ensures that obscene performances stay in adult venues by applying existing "material harmful to minors" standards to public performances. This prevents activists from targeting children with simulated sex acts and exposed genitalia.
What CCV is asking for
Ohio law must prioritize children’s fundamental safety over adults’ superficial desires. With 66 percent of Ohioans agreeing that enough is enough, the Ohio Legislature must act. HB249 has already passed the Ohio House. Tell Senate President Rob McColley and the Senate Judiciary Committee to support HB249 and protect the privacy and safety of women and children.
