Education and School Choice

Every child in America should be able to access and afford a high-quality education that acknowledges our Creator and the true story of the world. CCV presses that conviction where laws are made, building what works in Ohio, then scaling it to statehouses across the country and equips families and churches to act on it.

Education & Future
The moral claim

Deuteronomy 6:7, ESV:You shall teach them diligently to your children…

Every law makes a moral claim and there is no neutral legislation. Every statute assumes something about what a person is, what a family is, and what a society owes the vulnerable. Christians are not intruding on public policy by showing up, the claims are already being made, with or without us.

CCV shows up where those claims are made.

In CCV’s words

What CCV believes, and what it has done

God has given parents — not the government — the primary authority to direct the education of their children. We believe a true education teaches children who created them and what He created them for, and children have the best opportunity to succeed when educated to know our all-knowing and all-loving Heavenly Father.

Expanding School Choice Across America

CCV supported the Trump Administration’s efforts to create the first national school choice program, a federal income tax credit called the Education Freedom Tax Credit, to help every child in America access a Christian school. CCV leads the Christian Education Network Scholarship Granting Organization to help families leverage this tax credit to attend the school of their choice.

02

Enacting Universal School Choice

CCV advocated for Ohio’s historic universal EdChoice voucher expansion passed in the state budget, ensuring education dollars follow the student so every family can choose private or Christian schooling.

03

Creating the Ohio Tuition Tax Credit

CCV helped design and pass the 2021 legislation creating Ohio’s tuition tax credit. CCV’s Christian Education Network leads one of the largest Scholarship Granting Organizations in Ohio raising millions of dollars for tuition assistance for families attending Christian schools.

04

Fighting Government Regulation

CCV’s leadership actively testify against bills seeking to over-regulate private schools that accept EdChoice scholarships, ensuring Christian schools do not become mirror images of public schools.

Ohio’s tuition tax credit

The credit CCV helped design and pass in 2021 lets a filer redirect part of what they already owe the state to a child’s tuition instead. CCV’s Christian Education Network runs the scholarship granting organization that receives it.

Where CCV stands

Ohio is our proving ground, but America is our mission.

CCV builds, tests and wins state-level battles at home, then scales what works, exporting successful models and deploying resources to state-based allies across the country.
