Center for Christian Virtue (CCV) and its Christian Education Network (CEN) have joined a broad coalition of national conservative leaders and policy organizations in sending a joint letter to Congress, demanding full action to dismantle the federal Department of Education. While initial regulatory rollbacks mark progress, the coalition warns that true educational freedom requires completely shuttering the bloated federal bureaucracy and returning authority back to local communities and parents.
For decades, federal mandates have weaponized taxpayer dollars to push progressive agendas, undermine local school boards, and erode parental rights. By co-signing this letter, CCV and CEN are championing a complete end to federal interference in local classrooms, which would eliminate billions in administrative waste while restoring state sovereignty over education.
Through CEN—CCV’s initiative taking statehouse advocacy nationwide, CCV is actively building a movement across all 50 states to protect religious liberty, expand universal school choice, and equip local churches to plant Gospel-centered schools.
Real educational reform will not come from Washington bureaucrats, but from state-level policy victories and community-driven initiatives. As members of the coalition calling on Congress to finish the job, CCV and CEN remain committed to empowering families, defending parental rights, and advancing a vision for education rooted in biblical truth, academic excellence, and local governance.
