Former West Point cadet Caleb Suh pleaded guilty in June 2026 to federal assault charges after secretly drugging his pregnant girlfriend to force a chemical abortion against her will.

According to court records and Suh’s guilty plea, he impersonated his girlfriend online in January 2022 to order abortion medications after she repeatedly refused to terminate her pregnancy. On February 4, 2022, Suh gave her a protein drink laced with Xanax. While she was incapacitated, he physically administered the abortion pills. The woman woke up hours later experiencing severe pain and heavy bleeding, and hospital staff confirmed she had miscarried her wanted baby.

Suh subsequently transferred to Cornell University, graduating in 2026, and was accepted into a graduate program at Columbia University. Under a plea agreement recommending two years in prison, federal prosecutors agreed to allow Suh to defer his sentencing until January 2027 so he could complete his fall semester at Columbia.

Cornell University stated that Suh claimed to be in good academic standing when he transferred, while Columbia University has not issued a public comment.

The victim has filed a civil lawsuit against Suh seeking damages for the physical assault and trauma.
