Call DeWine: Tell Him to Protect Girls’ Sports

In statements to the press on Friday, Governor Mike DeWine suggested he may not sign the Save Women’s Sports Act, which ensures biological boys cannot compete in girls’ sports.

His short statement read:

“This issue is best addressed outside of government, through individual sports leagues and athletic associations, including the Ohio High School Athletic Association, who can tailor policies to meet the needs of their member athletes and member institutions.”

In response, Center for Christian Virtue President Aaron Baer said:

“Governor DeWine has spent his career talking about the importance of protecting children. Now, when Ohio’s girls are having their opportunities to play in fair and safe competitions stolen, our governor is turning his back.

“His statement is harmful, both to Ohio girls that only wish to play on a level field, and to the children who are having dangerous and sterilizing puberty-blocking drugs and cross-sex hormones.

“This issue isn’t complicated. And people who are trying to act like it is are letting politics consume their common sense.”

Stand with Center for Christian Virtue for fair play, and contact Governor DeWine’s office and urge him to support the Save Women’s Sports Act.
