God Hears Your Prayers

Have you heard the phrase “playing Whac-A-Mole”? It’s usually used to describe when just as you solve one problem, or think you’ve settled one issue, another pops right up and pushes you right back into fix-it mode again. Playing Whac-A-Mole is exhausting, unnerving and leaves you asking, “Is there an end to this?”

As Shepherds of God’s Church, I can only imagine that there were times this past year, and maybe still, when, just as you prayed, preached, or practiced one rule with the hope that it would bring a resolution, you looked up and there before you was another issue to pray about, preach on, or practice per governing authorities.

Being steadfast and immoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, isn’t always encouraging. BUT, the Word of the Lord in times like these is ever encouraging:

And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him. 1 John 5:14-15

As I share in this Pastors’ Briefing the latest on the “Un” Fairness Act (the state legislation that mirrors the federal Equality Act), a report on the congressman whose statement on the House floor was akin to an act to cancel God, and the latest from the Governor’s Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives, please remember, God hears our prayers and we can know (while we wait) that we have our requests.

There’s also good news in this Pastors’ Briefing, if you keep reading:

  • A link to a zoom forum hosted for Christian leaders to sharpen your knowledge about Critical Theory and how it differs from Biblical Theory.

  • A link to connect you to a local pre-National Day of Prayer event

  • Pictures from the recent Pastors’ Day at the Statehouse. God met us there!

  • Recorded Faith Friday conference call with Bishop Patrick Wooden.

The Ohio “Un”Fairness Act

Legislation threatening the privacy and safety of women and children will soon be reintroduced at the Ohio statehouse. Companion bills will be introduced in the Senate and House and will be sponsored by Senator Nikki Antonio (D-Cleveland), Senator Michael Rulli (R-Salem), Representative Brett Hillyer (R-Uhrichsville), and Representative Michael Skindell (D-Lakewood). The bills will add “Sexual Orientation” and “Gender Identity” to anti-discrimination laws. [read more...]

God’s Will “Of No Concern” to Congress?

This video clip clearly shows why the Body of Christ MUST care about and pray for those who are in authority, continually, and even daily in some instances. For the Enemy who is the Deceiver, the Beguiler, the Thief, the One Out to Steal, Kill and Destroy can and does influence our government authorities.

For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Romans 13:1b

Sharpen the Axe Forum

Join us for a timely and open Zoom discussion on:

  • What is Culture theory and does it sync with a Biblical view of reality?

  • Kinds of Critical Cultural Theory: Critical race theory, feminist, queer, transgender, ESG criteria and more

  • Critical Theory, Cancel Culture and its impact on the Church and other institutions

  • How can Christian leaders and followers of Jesus respond?
