WATCH: First Hearing for Pro-Marriage Bill to Designate "Natural Family Month"

House Bill 262 (HB262), sponsored by State Representatives Beth Lear (R-Galena) and Josh Williams (R-Sylvania Twp.), is scheduled to receive its first hearing in the Ohio House Community Revitalization Committee today—Tuesday, June 3—at 3:15 pm.

HB262 would designate the weeks between Mother's Day and Father's Day as "Natural Family Month," recognizing the vital importance of raising children in intact households with a married mom and dad for the economic and social stability of Ohioone of several policy solutions recommended in CCV’s marriage and family report, Hope and a Future.

Since this is the first hearing for HB262, Representatives Lear and Williams are scheduled to give sponsor testimony.

Did you know?

All bills must pass through both Chambers of the Ohio Statehouse to be sent to the governor for his approval to become law. HB262 is in the first steps of the legislative process in the Ohio House.
