The Policy Team has remained steadfast in our mission to protect Ohio families as we enter a busy month of legislative activity.

After a brief slowdown at the Statehouse during legislators’ spring break and the primary election season, committee work is beginning to pick back up. In May, several important hearings will provide new opportunities to advance policies that protect children, strengthen families, and uphold public safety. A few bills to remain mindful of this month include the App Store Accountability Act, the Patient Protection Act, and the Indecent Exposure Modernization Act.

A key focus this month will be the Indecent Exposure Modernization Act, House Bill 249. This legislation addresses serious gaps in Ohio law by ensuring that individuals who intentionally expose themselves in the presence of children, in women’s spaces, or in other inappropriate public settings can be held accountable. HB249 is a commonsense measure to restore safety, dignity, and clarity in our communities.

After passing the House, the bill now moves to the Senate, where we are planning strong grassroots advocacy in support of its passage.

To help build support for this important legislation, our office will host a legislative briefing on HB249 for elected officials. The briefing will give lawmakers an opportunity to hear directly from the bill’s sponsors, legal and policy experts, and individuals who understand why this reform is urgently needed. We believe this will be an important moment to educate members, answer questions, and encourage support as the bill moves through the committee process.

Please keep the Policy Team in prayer as we prepare for upcoming committee hearings and this legislative briefing. We also ask that you keep our legislators in prayer, especially as new members will begin serving in 2026 at the start of the next General Assembly. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve Ohio families and our supporters by advancing policies that protect children, uphold human dignity, and strengthen the foundations of our state.
