Prohibit AI-Generated Child Pornography
Senate Bill 163 (SB163) will be heard in the Senate Judiciary Committee today—Wednesday, May 7—at 9:45 am.
Sponsored by Senator Bill Blessing (R-Colerain Township) and Senator Terry Johnson (R-McDermott), SB163 would make it a felony to create, distribute, buy, or possess any AI-generated child pornography. It would also:
Require watermarks on all AI-generated content
Prohibit identity fraud using a replica of a person's likeness or voice.

State Operating Budget: Ban Cell Phones in Public Schools
Ohio's draft State Operating Budget (HB96) will be heard in the Senate Education Committee today—Wednesday, May 7—at 4:00 pm.
Among other measures, a proposed amendment to the budget would ban cell phone use in public school buildings, on school grounds, and/or on school premises during school hours, similar to Senator Timken's (R-Jackson Township) standalone bill, Senate Bill 158.
